My family was in a car accident and we were extremely overwhelmed by all the insurance claims, doctors visits, bills and all things that come on top of trying to recover physically and mentally after. Miles and Lauren handled every detail...Larissa Pauley
By far one of the best firms I've ever had the chance to hire. Communication was amazing. Any time there was anything new Lauren didn't hesitate to call me to tell me things or verify information. Miles going the extra mile too. Huge shoutout to Lauren and Miles.Cody Michael

Common questions
What Riders Ask Us First
Does not wearing a helmet ruin my claim?
It does not end it. Kentucky follows pure comparative fault, so there is no percentage of blame that automatically bars recovery, unlike states that cut you off at 50 or 51 percent. Your damages are reduced by your share. The insurer will still raise it, usually early and usually harder than the facts support, which is one reason to talk to a lawyer before you give a recorded statement.
KRS 411.182; Hilen v. Hays, 673 S.W.2d 713 (Ky. 1984)
What is the tort threshold and does my crash clear it?
Kentucky's no-fault scheme limits when you can step outside it and pursue the at-fault driver directly. Your accident must have resulted in at least $1,000 in medical bills, or your injuries must meet the legal definition of serious. Motorcycle injuries clear that bar more often than car crash injuries do, because a rider has nothing between them and the road.
Threshold as stated on mvmlaw.com.
What does a motorcycle accident lawyer cost?
Contingency fee, so there is no upfront fee or cost to you and no charge for the initial consultation. We are paid a percentage of the recovery, and if we do not recover money for you, you owe us no attorney fee. The percentage and how case costs are handled are set out in a written fee agreement you read and sign before we represent you.
How long do I have to file in Kentucky?
For motor vehicle injury claims, two years from the date of the crash or from the last PIP payment made on your behalf, whichever is later. That is longer than Kentucky's general one-year personal injury deadline, but it is easy to misjudge, and the exceptions are fact-specific. If you are unsure how much time is left, call us today rather than next month.
KRS 304.39-230; compare KRS 413.140
What if the driver had no insurance?
Then we look to your own uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. Kentucky does not require you to carry it, but every insurer has to offer it, and if you bought it, it can cover medical bills, lost wages, lost earning capacity and pain and suffering when the at-fault driver cannot. Reviewing your declarations page is one of the first things we do.
Is a motorcycle accident lawyer the same as a motorcycle crash attorney?
Yes. A motorcycle accident lawyer, a motorcycle crash attorney and a motorcycle wreck lawyer are the same thing: a personal injury lawyer who represents injured riders. Our Kentucky motorcycle accident lawyers represent riders and passengers hurt in crashes across Kentucky, from our offices in Lexington and Bowling Green.
