How We Can Help
Three steps, starting with a free conversation
Free Consultation
We are available 24/7 to hear what you have seen, tell you honestly whether it looks like abuse or neglect a claim can be built on, and explain your deadline.
We Get The Records
We demand the chart, the staffing rosters, the incident reports and the state inspection history, and we send a preservation letter before any of it can be tidied up.
Pursue Maximum Compensation
We negotiate for the most the records and the facility's coverage support. If they will not deal fairly, our trial lawyers file suit. We have tried nursing home cases and won.

By far one of the best firms I've ever had the chance to hire. Communication was amazing. Any time there was anything new Lauren didn't hesitate to call me to tell me things or verify information. Miles going the extra mile too. Huge shoutout to Lauren and Miles.Cody Michael

Common questions
What Families Ask Us First
What does a nursing home abuse lawyer cost?
We take these cases on a contingency fee, so there is no upfront fee or cost to you and no charge for the initial consultation. We are paid a percentage of the recovery, and if we do not recover money for you, you owe us no attorney fee. The percentage and how case costs are handled are set out in a written fee agreement you read and sign before we represent you.
How long do I have to bring a nursing home claim in Kentucky?
Less time than most families expect, and the deadline depends on facts specific to your situation, including when the harm was discovered and whether the resident has since died. This is the single most common reason a family loses the right to bring a claim at all. Call us before you do anything else and we will tell you where you stand.
What counts as abuse rather than an accident?
You do not have to show anyone meant harm. A nursing home owes every resident a safe environment, proper treatment and medical attention as needed, and it may only admit as many residents as its trained staff can properly care for. Where a facility falls below that standard and someone is hurt, that is a failure of a duty it already owed, whether it was deliberate or the result of understaffing.
What are the signs I should be looking for?
Bedsores and pressure injuries, unexplained bruises or fractures, sudden weight loss or dehydration, repeated falls, over-sedation, withdrawal or fear around particular staff, and money or belongings going missing. Any one of them can have an innocent explanation. Several together, or a facility that will not explain one, is worth a conversation.
Can I report this without hiring a lawyer?
Yes, and you should. You can report to Adult Protective Services, which investigates nursing home abuse across the state, and you may do so anonymously. You can also contact the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General on 1-877-228-7384 or the Office of the Inspector General. Reporting and bringing a claim are separate things, and doing one does not commit you to the other.
What can a family recover?
Damages generally fall into economic and non-economic categories. Economic covers present and future medical bills, the cost of moving your loved one to a new facility or arranging new nursing care, necessary equipment or medication, and money lost to financial exploitation or theft. Non-economic covers the harm that has no invoice attached to it. What any individual case is worth depends on the facts, the evidence and the coverage available.
My loved one is still in the facility. Is it safe to ask questions?
Retaliation against a resident or a family member for raising a concern is not permitted, and a resident is entitled to a written copy of their rights and the right to complain directly to the state. If you are worried about what happens after you speak up, tell us that when you call and we will talk through how to protect your loved one first.
Do you handle elder abuse and neglect, or only nursing home abuse?
Both. Elder abuse and elder neglect happen in nursing homes and in other long-term care facilities, and the signs are often the same: unexplained injuries, bedsores, weight loss, falls or a sudden change in mood. Our Kentucky nursing home abuse lawyers represent families in elder abuse and nursing home neglect cases across the state, from our offices in Lexington and Bowling Green.
