By far one of the best firms I've ever had the chance to hire. Communication was amazing. Any time there was anything new Lauren didn't hesitate to call me to tell me things or verify information. Miles going the extra mile too. Huge shoutout to Lauren and Miles.

Common questions

What People Ask After A Truck Crash

Who can be held responsible besides the driver?

Often several parties. The motor carrier that employed the driver, the company that loaded the cargo, the business responsible for maintenance, and sometimes a parts manufacturer. That matters for two reasons: more available coverage, and more parties with an interest in the evidence disappearing.

Why does everyone say to act fast on truck cases?

Because the evidence that decides these cases belongs to the other side. Electronic logging data, maintenance records, driver qualification files and dashcam footage all sit with the carrier, and retention periods are short. The carrier's investigator is often at the scene the same day. A letter demanding preservation needs to go out early, and that is one of the first things we do.

What does a truck accident lawyer cost?

Contingency fee, so there is no upfront fee or cost to you and no charge for the initial consultation. We are paid a percentage of the recovery, and if we do not recover money for you, you owe us no attorney fee. The percentage and how case costs are handled are set out in a written fee agreement you read and sign before we represent you.

How long do I have to file in Kentucky?

For motor vehicle injury claims, two years from the date of the crash or from the last PIP payment made on your behalf, whichever is later. That is longer than Kentucky's general one-year personal injury deadline, but it is easy to misjudge, and the exceptions are fact-specific. If you are unsure how much time is left, call us today rather than next month.

Is a truck claim worth more than a car claim?

Not automatically. Commercial policies are usually larger, which raises the ceiling, but it also means the claim is defended by people who do this full time. What any case is worth still depends on the injuries, the evidence and the coverage that exists. Honestly, nobody can tell you over the phone.

When can I sue the at-fault driver for pain and suffering?

Only once your injuries clear Kentucky's tort threshold. That means more than $1,000 in medical bills, or a permanent disfigurement, a broken weight-bearing bone, a compound or comminuted fracture, the loss of a body member, a permanent injury, or death. Until then, your own PIP coverage pays first for medical bills and lost wages. Whether your crash clears the threshold is one of the first things we check, and the call is free.

Is a truck accident lawyer the same as an 18-wheeler or semi truck attorney?

Yes. Whether you search for a truck accident lawyer, an 18-wheeler attorney, a semi truck lawyer or a tractor-trailer accident attorney, you are looking for the same thing: a personal injury lawyer who handles commercial truck crashes. Our Kentucky truck accident lawyers represent people hurt in crashes with semis, tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles across Kentucky, from our offices in Lexington and Bowling Green.
